Something about this bloggie

Ok, I admit that I've failed somewhere before. But anyway welcome. Just a brief intro on what you should expect here:
1. Football. Not gonna post much of that any soon since season is over. :S
2. Anime, Games, etc. Just abt anything conceivable under the Japanese radar barring anything and everything Rule 34. Now that's illegal. Period. -.-;
3. Music. Everything to do with it is listed under the tab.
5. Unacceptable humour: Anything and everything is fair game here. As long as I don't get rounded up by the ISA. -.-'

6.
The Known World=Fantasy world building in process. I: Used to be glossary, now devoted to random rambling; II: Character Concepts; III: Lore.
7. der Wolf=my Fictionpress account under the moniker Tsumujikaze no Soujutsu. A Ranger's Tale is hosted under this page. :)
8. New section now upped. Maybe I should also gun for upping A Ranger's Tale here since I do have this funny feeling that traffic coming to here is way more than whatever I'll get in FP.

Statement of intent: Everything said here is a figment of personal opinion, be it me or anybody commenting. I try to be responsible, but my parents=/=parents of the world.

@Druid of Luhn: Crap. Should have remembered far earlier to give you the credit for your CSS text box code. :(

A/N: But sadly, it seems that your CSS text box code has now been halved efficiency wise. :(

That most important note I should have added: Any images posted in this blog are NOT my own stuff. I got them from Google image search, I don't earn any shit by being a thief and liar. Those responsible for the pictures, rest assured that you all are great artists in your own regards. Sadly, we all know what limited space means in terms of posting.

Latest Note: Changed alignment for my page widgets due to my worry that I can't centre align the thing.

Note on A Ranger's Tale: In case any complaining fella wants to have a legal case with me, let this be known that A Ranger's Tale is rated M by default. I've upped the swearing and somewhat a bit on the dark/gritty factor. You all have been warned, let no little boy and girl enter the forbidden realm.

Latest on ART: A Ranger's Tale now starting to kick back in gear. But I really hate the insanely fluctuating climate here in S'pore.

P.S: Oh, and one more thing. Vid below is yet another ideal OP for A Ranger's Tale.

A Tale of Beasts and Men

Every mortal is born to be a prison cell, a sword is all it takes to create beasts out of upright folks. If the best key is one which unlocks every gate, what manner of truth shall the daring witness see?
~The Historium: Book of Erasmus Eliaden

Their journey was supposed to reach Seaside, everything halted to an abrupt end. Tragedy greeting Karen Tenias, she could only shut her mind away from this terrifying scene. Many a smallborne had called her father a Demon, she merely believed this word to be a figure of speech. After all, who would believe in horrific tales tantamount to debauchery and depravity enacted? Yet, here she stood, her naked form bounded by some cold watery form. She felt no pain, surely that means she would just be the last one savoured. Her protectors sacrificed to unspeakable entities raping them to death, the only daughter of Granad Tenias could only shut her eyes hoping for an unlikely swift death.

“Not now, O’ death. Not this day nor ever…”

It was a calm voice meant to pacify her, a prolonged tension ended up seizing her naked sweating body instead. Screams greeted her throbbing mind once again, she knew death had claimed another soul…

“Oh, you mean poor little Harri? Poor boy that one. I used to be his teacher and I just can’t find a way to guide him properly…”

“Can’t find a way or can’t find the time?” mouthed Lars silently, sardonic venom subtly evident in his expression, “This world is spiralling into slaughter and whorehouses.”

He couldn’t afford a piece of land for Harri’s burial spot, the meadow beyond Tangrin’s gates was his only alternative. Either that or poor Harri’s carcass would be fed to the crows. He always believed in paying a price for everything, he also knew there was one such thing called an unfair deal. If only every person can get his rightful due, mused the Demon Hunter.

Nah, I would have far better chances of fucking a noble’s daughter. Rest well and in peace, adorable Harri. I can only do this much for you.

With those final words lamented in his heart, Lars turned his back away. A casual wave of his arm was all it took for a miracle to be born. Glowing wisps accompanied the evening sky, those were not of fireflies weeping for the dead. Mayhap only Lars Alterfate himself understood how this was done, every haunting light soon exploded into flowers of flash and pomp.

Then he heard the sound of rolling wagons, his sight directed towards a couple of carriages brimming with goods. Any other person would assume this to be a merchant’s entourage, but not at this point. Conflict now at hand, this was no time for traders enjoying the buying crowd. A quirky smile creasing his handsome features, Lars Alterfate decided to pull a prank or two.

And besides, there are quite a few lookers and beauties. Lars Alterfate, you’re one lucky scoundrel.

Arondight watched on impassively as other patrons cheered and whooped in joy, the owners leering with joy. Ceres once told him something about the horrors in seeing her friends raped, that was after he rescued her from the Dwarven raid. Ironically, he’s now out to liberate that place.

War brings out the worst in us, calm before the storm only marks the start.

Those were words not from his mouth, but rather Fionn of Cumhaill. Many a fearful whisper was muttered, his battle prowess deemed unrivalled. When one had enough of battles, surely he would remember only pain. This whorehouse was nowhere more special. Blood trickling from her crotch told him the victim was a virgin mere moments ago, he wouldn’t have tried touching this place with a ten foot pole if not for meeting someone here. Apparently, punctuality was never meant to be a universal trait.

A hand balled into a fist, Arondight tried reining in his anger. Even though he was a Berserker, the hulking knight could still retain a strong hold on his sanity. That was until the poor lass’ eyes suddenly went dead, a patron’s fist shoved up into her vagina the cause of death. It was at the request from that man which forced him staying his hand, woe be to all incurring an evening of murderous wrath.

Ceres, thy beauty hast truthfully becomest death’s herb…

A crimson light then streaked past him, its intent targeting that young lad who delivered his suffering victim the final blow. A shower of blood and scattered brains splattered the walls, the girl now deceased was painted in her tormentor’s warm red fluid. He’s supposed to be mine to kill, raged Arondight as oblivion clouded his awareness. At last losing himself to murderous instinct, a mortal man finally became a hungry lion in disguise.

“BE NOT UNTO THEE!”

A baleful roar shook the establishment to its very roots, a maelstrom wrought from the maddest of men took instant flight. Not away from the chaos induced, but wading through a crowd ruled by stampede. Arondight cared not for what will happen next, consequences be damned. All he craved currently was merely blood, spilling guts, and broken heads.

)0(

Raucous guffaws and lustful moaning ran amok, a brothel was every man’s only mean of comfort. After all, every combat fit male would be doomed to kill or to be killed. At least sex costing only money and nothing else should be able to cloud every soldier’s fears. Aeranath forgot the establishment’s name, but he cared not regardless of whatever flamboyant words written. At least the quality of every wench was above decent, that’s all he asked for. Wondering for a flashing moment whether this was the same whorehouse which got him into trouble, the Ranger snorted dismissively.

Goldwanker’s taste in whores have taken a tumble, I see. Hyo’Ah would have castrated him after an almighty bitch slap anyway.

Fondling a comely lass’ shapely breasts, the comely blonde mayhap no older than seventeen winters was his favourite whore. Never before had the True Apostle spent so long and splurged so much on a single girl, it seemed like a surreal comedy playing in the back of his mind. Then he heard a ruckus outside as a drunken Sudhlit got himself into a scuffle.

“Fucking moron,” grunted a smiling Aeranath as he downed yet another tankard, a gloved hand wiping away the lingering foam, “This should be fun though.”

Then in a single motion fluid as a meandering stream, the obnoxious alcoholic managed to duck under and swivelled away. The two ruffians picking a fight with him managed to knock each other out cold. Silence permeated the porch at first like an invisible victor, then erupted cheers voiced their appreciation for the winner declared. Aeranath, however, did not seemed amused.

This is no ordinary drunk, he’s just faking it. Aesir? Or Vanir?

Sauntering into the crowd, the Sudhlit immersed himself into the moment of adulation. Aeranath’s keen vision finally affirmed what he wanted to know, there were no visible signs of intoxication in that handsome Sudhlit. Shabbily dressed, his face was partially covered by stubble with shoulder length black hair swept to one side. Unmistakably however was a weathered Teutonian longbow gripped firmly, the Ranger recognising it as one wielded by the famed Aegil Orden.

Smirking like a rascal impossible to dislike, he gave a cheeky shrug before Aeranath’s wary gaze. As the True Apostle contemplated what to do with this seemingly unpredictable individual, his counterpart first spoke out.

“Ah, a Tamurian,” grinned the bowman, “Nice to see a fellow native from the south.”

“Native enemy, you mean.”

“Oh no, that’s so bloody hell wrong!” the Sudhlit stranger wagged both fingers comically, “Even men hailing from the south needs bitches providing warmth and comfort.”

“Holes and tits, you mean,” smirked the Ranger, “Sorry to say that I don’t give a rat’s ass damn to who’s who of racial history. I suck at reading cumbersome textbooks.”

“So do I,” beamed the cheerful youth, a finger scratching his chin, “Rarely would someone accustomed to survival read plenty of books. Too busy living and trying not die.”

“You’re an interesting man, Sudhlit. I suppose you don’t know anything about the Church?”

“I happen to hear of some great white bitch,” the Sudhlit’s smile soon took a wry turn, “Heard she’s good in everything and that includes bossing Those Who Strike Alone.”

Unto those damning words heard, Aeranath stood up violently. His pretty companion was promptly flung onto the hard wooden floor reeking with vomit, her expression betraying only fear. Staring at each other eye to eye, both men refused to back down. Whatever joyous atmosphere promptly dissipated, a hushed ambience invaded the establishment. Then the silence was swiftly broken by one unexpected gesture.

“I’d like to fuck that white haired bitch if the Unholy Quintet permits,” winked the knavish lad, “Heard many things about her, most of them seems too good to be true.”

Roaring out in laughter, patrons and wenches alike joined in Aeranath’s mirth. This was truly an interesting proposition coming from someone he did not know, Nanaya no Geun’Jin died countless years ago. That foolish girl could have turned back in time, yet she betrayed her most beloved ah’na.

If someone betrays Hyo’Ah, it means that idiot is tired of living.

“Hey, lady boss!” hollered the Sudhlit, his loud clear voice rising above the harmless rabble, “Mind if I get one bitch for free?”

“Go ahead!” called out matronly redhead in a boisterous manner, “You’ve helped me out with those two cretins bothering my girls for weeks, so just take your pick!”

“Three nights?”

“One night, drunken jackass!”

A nonchalant shrug accompanied an ensuing chorus of catcalls, Aeranath hoisted up his playmate from the floor. Reciprocating the favour, a curvy brunette was promptly seized. Merry shouting reaching a crescendo, the Sudhlit had no need to maintain his mask. Hushing the crowd with a finger on his lips, he stroked the giggling wench’s upper lip with his thumb.

“I prefer one on one, so don’t expect me to accommodate anything warped. By the way, name’s Tristan Ajax, one of the Six Who Strike Alone.”

The balmy sea breeze caressed Guy’s spiky blond hair, Joenne Nances discovered his newfound to be somewhat alluring. The Guy Cody she knew so well was known to be an idiot, yet he had matured into a beast of a man. His shoulders seemed to have gotten slightly broader, definitely he put on maybe a stone or two. In the past, she couldn’t understand why Alestrial and Karen were attracted to such a dolt. Now she finally knew.

“Hey, Guya!!!!”

If there was anything staying the same, it would be Guy Cody’s weakness towards women. Or more specifically in this case a filly bubbling with jovialness. Standing nearby, Lara was seen snickering while Bigan seemed rather miffed for no supposed reason. Moggray was down below overseeing preparation of lunch while Southgate’s look was brimming with sudden chagrin.

“Joyce! Get away from that boy!”

Sticking out her tongue in defiance, Joyce whispered a few words into Guy’s ear. His countenance straightaway turned flaming red, the impudent brunette lass ushered him down the deck. For one entire next hour, the Sea Wench’s crew had to put up with constant expletives rattling off like Bigan’s latest invention.

“Well, even the seagulls approved of their little tryst it seems,” quipped Lara von Dirkwind, her hungry stare roaming over any lad desirable enough, “Lady Nances, it seems that we still have two more little boys unaccounted for, hmm?”

“You better stop being horny,” glared Joenne, “One belongs to Ales and the other is the only son of Brynn Steele.”

“Oh my,” gasped Lara in mock surprise, her hands clasped over a pair of luscious lips, “I never knew your friend is so well learned!”

Sucking in her breath, Joenne raised a hand to slap that awful smugness away. Only to find herself getting groped from behind, Joenne attempted to break free unto no avail. This was the fifth time she got sexually assaulted by this obnoxious Half-Elf, how much longer did she have to endure this humiliation? Even though people mocked her for not being ladylike enough, at least she still remains the only daughter Cruax Nances has. Knowing which part of the female anatomy was pressing hard against her back, circumstances could never be any more embarrassing.

“Ever wonder why I can be anywhere nearby in a blinking of an eye?” cooed the seductive sellsword, “Someone taught me a lot of things, I can impart you some if you want to.”

Tingling with anger and flushing with embarrassment, Joenne mustered every ounce of strength in her willowy frame. Consequences be damned, she could not care less whether she’ll be feeding the sharks with herself. Suddenly losing balance, her delicate lips yelped out in pain.

A sprained ankle and a ship mostly of freaks… O’ Father above, I promise not to consume too much of the pantry if I manage to survive this.

“A good game of chess...”

Alestrial Eliaden detested that slippery smile belonging to her enemy, the Serpent of Histalonia ignoring her glare in return. Whenever he felt bored, Eliador de Lioncourt would always summon her. Like a female whelp doomed to be mated one fine day, the Cinha lady now no more had to play her cards carefully.

“Only because you won, Serpent.”

Surveying her surroundings with momentary glances, the daughter of Louthes Eliaden had long ceased her amazement directed towards her adversary’s room. Neither caring for exquisite portraits hanged on the walls nor whatever growling exiting from exotic beasts caged, her dark hard eyes nevertheless drank in the sight. Seemingly mocking her predicament, the late morning sun showered its rays upon her shoulder length hair raven dark.

“Fairest Alestrial Eliaden, do you still perceive yourself as a harlot meant to please kingdoms of men?” asked the Elven rogue, his repulsive knavery upping its ante every minute, “Surely not.”

“Spare me your lies, for hungry Dwarves under your gold had devoured my chastity with glee.”

No sooner truthful words departed from her dainty lips, a sharp pain greeted her right cheek. Flashing a sneering visage, Alestrial stood up in front of Eliador. Defiant gaze reaching upwards against a pair of storm grey orbs, there was nothing to fear. Alestrial Eliaden has lost everything.

Pride, love, chastity… what else is left, mused the Cinha fighter within her soulful depth.

Detecting nary a shred of anger, Alestrial braced herself for the worst. Yet, that thieving Elf helped her up instead. Utterly stunned by his show of abrupt gentleness, she half expected a rough pull at her hair.

So be it then…

Caressing the back of her head instead, the Serpent of Histalonia whispered his damning assessment. With a statement of frigid clarity coursing from ear to mind, Alestrial couldn’t bear herself listening to those words spoken half in jest. If what he said was true, why then must many suffer for her sake? Why then must she suffer herself?

“But not your inner fire, not your unique talent waiting to be freed. I have two keen eyes for capable people instead of one, mind you...”

)0(

“House Tenias will surely give us a big fat purse,” grinned a boyish youth, his pair of long pointed ears bobbing in anticipation, “Then again, ‘tis not every day you get to see a human girl decently desirable.”

“Stop being horny, Conwer,” a sharp blow to his ears vanquished his enthusiasm, a brunette girl with similar features frowning her disapproval.

“Hey! You assaulted me!” hollered an indignant Conwer, his sight directed to a cowled figure seemingly asleep, “Gramps, busty Hazel doesn’t like me! She wants to rape me!”

“Enough whining, Conwer,” muttered the hooded man darkly, “Everyone including our Wraith Lord is trying to get as much sleep possible before reaching our hitting point.”

Glowering at Hazel, Conwer had to admit she’s rather pretty. At least that’s the only good thing about her, mused the roguish Half-Elf. Hopefully Kerstein would consider her for the sake of peaceful times ahead. The sound of rolling wheels then dominated the remaining time, Conwer managing to sneak a glimpse before falling into slumber.

‘Tis our banner of midnight black, an Elven sabre ghostly white the only light.

A/N-Nothing new lingo wise, but I've managed to tear up whatever timetable for all things plot and characters. I'm indeed born to be a gardener, not some architect. Not to mention I'm also born to be an obsessive jerkass bordering on Vincent van Gogh minus the talent.

Now back to RPG PC...

Suddenly realised my focus has strangely slacked off, might as well do something different for now. Wow, I really need someone to impose a time scheduling regime lol!

1. Horsemanship is now legit.
2. Horsemanship will allow your party to travel faster.
3. During combat in the wilds, this Skill will confer +1 Strength and +2 Speed.

P.S: I know whatever innuendo the number sixty nine implies, but believe me when I say a harmless symbol=I'm telling the truth.

A/N-Whatever stated below is ONLY tentative. The fact I enjoy watching Flower Boys Next Door thus far doesn't mean a shit when it comes to whether I'm out to create a PC either imba or hideously broken.

Of Gods and Men (Part 4)/Vessels Intro (Norse)

Apparently, I got many things wrong on why we lost to Brighton at home. Thankfully, I don't have to be a Sad S'porean Bastard till the next match. Unfortunately however, I'll still have to be another SSB for at least one more week or so.

P.S: Shit! 26th Dec coming damned fast!

Add P.S: Now let's see if I'll remain a sad bastard till 2014.

Vessels
Every Faction will now have a Vessel. Vessels are considered MR status and will assume the role of a Fort in your place. Each player can only choose one Vessel. A match cannot have two or more same Vessels in play, i.e. different Vessels must be played.
A/N-relevant section will go by multi-part post.

+()+  +()+

Vessel of Scandinavia
Esti Refaeli
(Israel)

I stare in shock and horror as the drunk assaulted him. No one has ever accused me of being some lady saint, but even I'm left speechless. Why? Why doesn't he fight back? If such silence means being a gentleman, then I might as well kick him in the balls once he's finally down. I am supposed to reach Tel Amour by eight, what is it now?!

Eight thirty...

No sooner my watch winked back to me, I tried my damned best getting up. Only to suffer a sharp pain shooting up my leg. Okay, so that one is a sprain ankle. Way to go, Esti. Now let's see if you can survive on one month's worth of savings.

How old is he? Definitely not thirty or late twenties. More like... sixteen? No, it can't be. No sixteen year old can ever possess such an imposing physique. Yet, his somewhat childlike features take me aback. It really feels weirdly like ten years ago where schoolyard bullying was your only way to become a ruler.

A loud commotion snapping me back to the world, my hands found themselves cupped against my lips. Still remaining in gawking mode, the crowd this time round direct their camera phones onto the hulking man. At least one head taller, my unexpected saviour lifted the drunk off his feet. Choking and spluttering without reprieve, the victim is being held in an iron grip strangling his neck. His lashing serving no response, I wince together with the rest upon seeing that stranger's balls kicked. That must ha... wait, he doesn't feel any pain? This is fucking retarded! I swear a forceful kick like would have fell even the strongest ox!

Then it happened way too fast, yet seemingly slow. Perceiving every scene like some surreal drama show, the youth chuck his prey a good few metres away. Travelling in an arcing flight, everything comes to an abrupt end. Caught in midair, my assailant found himself shooting off like a bloodied bullet as a speeding truck failed to brake in time.

+()+  +()+  +()+  +()+

"Brother! All-Father calls for us," whispered a youthful man, his body a symbol of might and honour. If his sibling had any answer to the call, he merely turned his back.

"Baldr, please don't let me repeat myself again."

"So are you admonishing me, Thor?"

Asgard was supposed to be the finest place ever, the halls of Valhalla offering mead flowing like river and serving maids comelier than the greatest beauties. It was every warrior's dream to stay there forever, yet Badlr would have nothing of that.

"Look at you, my brother," mocked the leaner god twice as fair, "Strong, stoic, strikingly handsome... a lion's golden mane must have been everybody's envy. Unlike me..."

"...who is fairer than every Aesir and Vanir combined, a boy of every maiden's dream," sighed a wistful Thor, "Not to mention..."

"Silence!" snapped Baldr, his show of anger nonetheless unable to faze the mighty Aesir, "Do not ever mention that 'word', get me?"

"Your petulance will get you into trouble, Baldr."

"And what crime has Vidar committed to warrant him exile?" trembling with rage, this was not the Baldr mortal men had came to know. Shoulder length auburn hair suddenly whipping about, a violent gale warped the ambience surrounding Breidablik. It was indeed true to say that fewest baneful runes reside in Baldr's hall, but this was because Breidablik's owner had no need for these dangerous traps.

"Our brother chose to volunteer himself," whispered Thor, his apologetic tone more akin to self-reproach.

"And do you know why, O' Mightiest Thor?" questioned Baldr. Thor could not muster the courage to give an answer, that only answer.

"Because Vidar is never meant to be loved," snarled Baldr, his facial features the surest sign of unbridled ire.

"Nor to love as well," Thor's gaze never wavered before Baldr's raging fire, he could only speak the cold hard truth, "But all can be sure many from the Valhalla would gladly die in our brother's place, let alone taking up arms under the banner of Vidi."

"That's all?" his anger soon reduced to a wary glare, Baldr nevertheless refused to let down his guard, "So what does our All-Father have to say?"

"Nothing, you know him equally well as each one does," frowned Thor as he abruptly departed in a flash of lightning. Baldr only understood too well what his brethren is trying to say.

"Forget about Vidar, your presence is sorely needed," sneered the boyish Aesir, "Is that your will, O' our All-Father, Odin?"

+()+  +()+  +()+  +()+

This has to be most absurd bullshit ever. That bloke had just committed murder and the cops let him off the hook? I'd like to pinpoint being a knight in shining armour was the reason why, but that would have encouraged rapists arming themselves with assault rifles.

"My All-Father took care of everything."

"That's it?"

"That's all."

"That's fucking stupid! What All-Father? Some kind of retarded fairy tale?"

"I'm going to sleep. Good night."

And so we have it. Esti Refaeli, hottest wannabe top model, and some handsome bloke bumming around in her apartment? If he's Jewish, then I'm Germany's next top model.

Of Gods and Men (Part 3)

One rule tweak/upgrade: Terrain cards are considered neutral. By that, I mean any Terrain cards in play will NOT affect any players beyond whatever specified in the individual cards/Faction.

Factions
Factions define which part of actual mythology your cards hail from. At the same time, any deck can consist of more than one Faction. For now, I'll out only 4 factions, namely: Norse, Celtic, Mesopotamia, Goguryeo.

Faction bonus [plus a PC/diplomatic statement]
Every Faction will have a given bonus, be it based on whatever type of cards used or Terrain. Please note that any such bonus is only applicable to the respective Faction under a single player. On the contrary to what others might believe, I'm not gonna do some bogey system for OGaM.

This is due to racial issues=political correctness. tbh I don't have any problem with condemning racism, so please don't crucify me. Yet, whenever I think back on how Luis Aragonés managed to corrupt one entire nation unwittingly, shivers managed to conquer my spine. If even an innocuous monkey joke cracked by Roy Hodgson can become headline news, then we need to ask whether Andros Townsend was within earshot back then.

Introduction-Norse
Overview:
Fire and ice greeting all who dare, the northern ends of Europe is a treasure trove of bravery and strength. One of the earliest known seafarers, the Scandinavians had been much maligned due their abrupt invasion of Lindisfarne. If warfare is in every Norseman's blood, then surely heroism runs deep in his spine.

Notable traits: Highest number of Pantheon available; high Strength stat for Heroes.

Faction bonus
+1 Strength to all Units and Heroes if number of Mountains in play is equal or more than the number of friendly Units in play.

Introduction-Celtic
Overview:
A lush green land beckons, a group of isles welcoming every intruding cur to his demise. The British Isles we are now so familiar with is nothing like its past. Populated by numerous tribes and clans, very little of their culture survive till this day. Yet, many a tale remains somewhat coherent, their show of valour and pride left intact.

Notable traits: Highest number of Heroes available; high Command stat for Heroes.

Faction bonus
+1 Strength to all Pantheon and Heroes if total number of enemy Units is higher than number of Forests in play.

Introduction-Mesopotamia
Overview:
Synonymous with the oldest empire known to man, the Akkadian Empire, Mesopotamia had long associated itself with certain famous civilisations. From the Akkadians and Sumerians to the Babylonians and Assyrians, this was a land rich in ancient culture predating the Bible. Euphrates was its head, the Tigris the torso. Now better known as Iraq, this was nevertheless the land which many still hail as a cradle of civilisation.

Notable traits: Strong Siege and Infantry Units; high Command stat for Pantheon.

Faction bonus
+1 Strength to all Units and +1 Command to all Heroes if Fort reaches below 50% life; +1 Strength all Heroes this way if number of friendly Units is below total number of Deserts and Marshes in play.

Introduction-Goguryeo
Overview:
From the southern plains of East Asia hails a people fierce and proud, this was a civilisation believing every god to be equal just like how we now believe the same for all human beings. The term "Goguryeo" is the reason behind the term "Korea". Yet, not many outsiders actually understand why this is so. Founded by the great king, Jumong, Goguryeo managed to become the byword for Korean pride.

Notable traits: Strong Cavalry and Ranged Units; stats wise a jack of all trades, but master of none.

Faction bonus
+1 Command to all Heroes if number of Plains in play is higher than number of friendly Units in play.

To be cont'd...

Pre-mortem 2014 (Group B)

Apparently, I just realised something earlier today. Yes, we all know by now the whole #LittleIndiaRiot news, a lot had been said on drunken workers and what not. What I want to say now is this: credit to Sun TV for taking up responsibility for its errors, I believe it's now my turn to educate(?) my fellow S'poreans.

Moral of the story?
Say NO to apathy, but YES to empathy.

Group B

Reino de España
Talk cock intro: Crowned three times as La Rey de Europa (1964, 2008, 2012) and glorified once as La Rey del Mundo (2010), La Furia Roja will be the team to beat, NOT Brazil. Previously ridiculed as the Cardiff City of world football, Luis "tell that negro de mierda that you are much better than him" Aragonés managed to perform a feat no other predecessors had ever done. From pretendientes to campeones, I believe many English folks would find that hard to stomach. [1]

Implementing what many billed as tiki-taka, perhaps not many fans actually realised Aragonés to be some naturalised white Brazilian. Indeed prior to his appointment, Spain would always run the risk of getting out-muscled and overpowered. Arguably true in saying so, La Furia Roja never had a brand of football called its own until post-2006. A lot has been said on the Spanish being perennial chokers despite boasting many ball phenoms, tiki-taka IS the reason why Spain was able to end its title drought since 1964.

After Luis "tell that negro de mierda that you are much better than him" Aragonés, we got Vicente "tell that El Dinero that I am much more intelligent than him" del Bosque. A lot had been said on El Zorro killing off Spanish football, but we need to get our facts right firstly and foremost. There are two types of tiki-taka: the Aragonés brand and del Bosque brand.

One interesting difference between the two lies in Aragonés being a striker during his playing years and del Bosque being a defensive midfielder as a player. As someone in a postion used to scoring (and quite likely to create some as well), 'tis natural to discern attacking tiki-taka as Aragonés' trademark. As someone more familiar with defending, del Bosque's modification lies in defensive possession rather than bossing the ball forward. [2]

I'll make no bones about this-La Furia Española will once again build their momentum upon an impressive CV preceding themselves.

La responsabilidad: A lot has been said on Latin climate remaining unchanged most likely, del Bosque's only worry lies in whether his charges will abruptly become Cardiff City all over again. A lot will be said on an aging generation made in gold, King Midas's greatest enemy is himself. [3]

If del Bosque decides to play that brand of tiki-taka which got him into El Dinero's cross hairs last time round, then be very sure that only a massive global cooling can scupper whatever strategy and tactics planned beforehand.

Prediction: I dare say this myself-whoever playing in that false No.9 role will be Cesc "Noi de Catalunya" Fàbregas himself. To ensure any semblance of tiki-taka stability, there MUST be 100% stability in terms of ball retention. In short, limpeh is talking about that one man tasked with dictating tempo with the ball.

Who I'd like to see in her national colours
Sara Carbonero (plus her first kid)

Nederland
Talk cock intro: This is a nation quite famous for many thing apart from football. From Den Haag to the well equipped Dutch maidens, from the red end of Amsterdam to legal weed and euthanasia considered equally legal, surely the Oranje would not want implosion to sully their national repute. [4] The closest shot the Netherlands ever had was World Cup 2010.

If you think this is ironic, then you've yet to see the real deal. After all those years of inter-wrangling football, perhaps we've yet to see the last of Marco "kenna cui" [5] van Basten. But lol no! SC Heerenveen tan-dio, van Basten still there. With Louis "Robben benci" van Gaal at the helm, one could have easily worried sick for Arjen "that Dutch Spock" Robben. Ask every Bavarian and he/she will have many stories to tell about Robben, Müller and Ribéry. At the epicentre lies van Gaal, shit happens.

De bewijslast: Will van Gaal stumble the same way his predecessors did? Out of every coach bossing the Oranje, only van Basten was able to tame a dressing room full of talented egos. One of my online friends, Tur even made no bones over the fact that implosion=24/7 probability. [6] Despite whatever negative talk bandied around Bert "laojiao" van Marwijk's tactics, one thing remains unchanged about the Oranje. Total Football pioneered by the great genius Rinus "dunno who" Michels and championed by the most notable Johan "you know who" Cruyff.

Let it be said that totaalvoetbal is NOT about attacking football. It's about having 10 players capable of playing in ANY position nearby. Creativity=a must, but superior footballing brain=fundamental. Unlike the school of tiki-taka which places much more emphasis on ball control, totaalvoetbal is all about 1 ball vs 10 human beings. In short, it's 100% movement, both off ball and with the ball.

Prediction: Pretty sure van Gaal will be telling his charges to play smart instead of cheong-suah. Stamina wise, European teams are no match for their Latin counterparts and we all know where is Brazil. The Oranje won't have the kind of tactical advantage Spain will undoubtedly enjoy, let alone their country not being part of the Iberian Peninsula. I believe everything will go bottoms up, i.e. patient offensive build up from the back complete with sudden wtf moments. Either that or entire dressing room go tits up.

República de Chile
Talk cock intro: That consistent kid on the Latin block, this is how I'll describe Chile. Boasting a frightening array of creative weapons, will 2014 be their moment? During the last 2-3 years, I believe we've all witnesses how Chile managed to establish itself as a resurgent powerhouse. You see, while it has yet to win a World Cup, earning a top 4 finish in 19 editions of the Copa America should be a major statement of consistent class. Out of aforementioned 19 times, the Red Hot Chilean Peppers managed to secure 2nd place 4 times.

Sadly, tragedy afflicted the team from 1990 to 1994. Ironically, it was Brazil causing Chile's misery. [7] I can assure every neutral that 2014 will be much better than 2010. At least it will be interesting to see how Chile will react towards playing in a familiar territory, i.e. the Estádio do Maracanã.

Yes, my fellow observers. Revenge will be very much in the Chileans' agenda, surely this team will be out to hurt Brazil in a fair and square manner. Ranked no.4 in the FIFA ranking, Chile double confirm is now on a major mission to prove every sceptic horribly wrong.

La responsabilidad: The most interesting part about Latin football is the fact that all nations are either ex-Spanish colonies or ex-Portuguese colonies. As such, Chile will be fighting against that opponent they'll jolly well be suited for. Their head coach, Jorge "not Chilean" Sampaoli is actually Argentine, so chances are that he's also quite familiar with Argentine football. Something that will serve the team well if the Red Hot Chilean Peppers manage to take on that certain one man team. The only worry Chile might be facing is complacency. Sampaoli needs to drill constant humility in this team if the Chileans want to go far. Given that they may play Brazil very soon, any victory against Spain shouldn't be over hyped.

Prediction: I loathe to play the actual pundit, but Chile will be in a very strong position to qualify. Bookmaking odds will most likely put Spain and Holland as top favourites to progress, but rarely will the bookies play according to honour. There is a very good reason why chronic gambling will always land decent people and loving families in hot water. O$P$ and Bedok Reservoir are merely the effects behind the cause. If you think you're smarter than the bookies, then you're a talking sheep.

So why would I put Chile under the favourite tags? First, the climate. Chile won't have any issues with that due to the glaring obvious. Secondly, being used to their local weather will mean a massive tactical advantage. Against La Furia Roja, they can afford to harass and force the opponent to cede possession. Against the Oranje, they are capable of worse, i.e. exploiting plenty of space and breaking up play all over the middle 3rd. Alexis "I troll Engrand" Sanchez might be their star man, but the Red Hot Chilean Peppers will surely be able to launch devastating aggro from their dynamic midfield buildup.

Who I'd like to see in her national colours
Marie Ann Salas

Commonwealth of Australia
Talk cock intro: Sorry AnalAlex, I can only think of this clip.

The onus: Changing your head coach/manager only after successful qualification? I don't know what was going on behind the scene, but surely the power brokers at FFA know what they are doing. Sadly, I can't convince myself to be this optimistic. The buggers at FFA are taking a massive gamble if 2014 should be their magic 4D hor-beh. Sadly, I firmly believe everything will become hor-beh boh-ki.

Prediction:  Ange Postecoglou will have his job cut out for him. The Socceroos are fast becoming aging tak-kiu-roos. Mark "Boro's finest best" Schwarzer is already 41. Even if he's there as a backup keeper, surely this is merely one of many ominous signs pointing to a massive decline! imo, Postecoglou must cast his sight 2-3 years in advance. 2014 will end up as heartbreak for the Socceroos, but it's not really over for them. Apart from Rhys "double confirm I hate Foster's" Williams, sure there must be hungry players young enough to carry the future's banner. Yet, it should be stated that Brazil must NOT be seen as some abattoir owned by local Latinos. Yes, I know South Americans enjoy having their meat grilled and juicy, but this is no excuse for any takers to enjoy barbecued kangaroo meat. [8]

If the FFA has any semblance of sportsmen pride (which to be fair, I firmly believe so), they must act decisively. I know Gibbo had made some horrible decisions due to his insistence on stability, but at least he's not afraid to order a stay in execution unless finally proven wrong.

Next up-Group C

[1]: C'mon mates, that's N years ago. Even Eto'o wasn't spared last time round.
[2]: Ever wondered how Southampton manage to fly so high atm?
[5]: Singlish. Nothing to do with a certain Harry Cui (in)famous for being a literal(?) wanker(?).
[6]: Although to be honest, Tur had already gone MIA online for N ages.
[7]: Important trivia, folks.
[8]: This comes to mind my secondary school field trip to Perth where I remembered eating emu sausages and actual kangaroo meat. That was during June 1997 plus the headmaster of some school we went to being an Arsenal Gooner. Now if only I can recall/meet that hot blond girl once again. Cara, at least I still remember your name.

This Known World (Part 1)

Why Singapore suddenly kenna hantam, I dunno. Yes, I know that Breakfast Network fiasco, but nothing much in this world can surprise me now. That is until South Asia decided to prove me wrong. Suddenly realising that the only way to kill a troll is to stay constructive, I therefore decide not to be destructive.

The Known World (aka TCG ver of ART)
Am I getting a bit ambitious? Ah well, I only do this for fun. If I can really get something out of this, it means I kenna lifetime bonus for sure one.
Some random concepts
1. Planning to have Aesir and Vanir units.
2. Also will have normal units.
3.Characters are considered as either Aesir or Vanir.
4. Magic cards included also.
5. Ability cards anyone?
6. Element affinity ported over from the RPG?
7. There will be two decks used in the game: main deck and stockpile.
8. Main deck consists of Magic, Ability, and Entity cards.
9. Stockpile consists of cards used via any Entity's Action(s).

Actions
Action indicates the basic steps any Entity can adopt during the game. There are 2 types of Action cards available: Consumable and Unique. Offensive and Defensive are Actions requiring no cards at all.

Offensive: Entity declares an attack once.
Defensive: Entity cannot declare any attack until the next turn.
Consumable: Mostly Herbs and Potions with some others; can only use this Action during Preparation.
Unique: Actions reserved specifically for the individual Character.

Herbs: Confer either one-shot effect or duration effect lasting until end of current turn. Mainly used for self-healing.

Potions: Confer duration effect specified in the card. Mainly used for self-healing, self-buffs, and removing negative effects from self.

Some others: Self-explanatory. Some examples include Throwing Knives, Javelins, and Darts.

Entities
Referring to characters and units, these are your mainstay throughout the game. Aesir and Vanir will have higher stats while normal units have the lowest stats. An Entity card will indicate whether it is an Unit or a Character.

Ability cards
Played during your Preparation phase, Ability cards confer various bonus/properties for any given Entity. Only one Ability can be used on an Entity. Ability effect will only last until end of your current turn. Do note that every Entity can only use an Ability with equal or lower cost. List (?) of Ability cards.

Some concepts on Magic
1. Magic cards are classified under 4 base elements (i.e. Fire, Earth, Air and Water) and 4 affinity elements (Lightning, Steel, Life, and Ice).
3. Before casting any Magic, choose one Aesir with equal or higher cost. That Aesir will be treated as the caster.
4. Your total number of Magic cards played cannot exceed total number of your Aesir cards in play.
5. Tapped Aesir cards cannot use Magic.
6. After using Magic, tap the caster.
7. A Magic card can only have either one Basic element or one Affinity element.
8. Affinity Magic can only be used by Aesir possessing the same Affinity.

Properties of every Basic and Affinity elements
Fire-that Magic deals +1 damage to all affected Entities with cost lower than the caster.
Earth-caster gains +1 Defence.
Air-caster remains untapped and gains 1 additional Action.
Water-caster is immune to any Magic of lower cost.

Lightning-any Entity damaged by the caster suffers -2 Defence; caster gains 1 additional Action.
Steel-caster gains +1 Attack and +1 Defence.
Life-prevent all damage dealt to the caster from any single source.
Ice-any Entity damaged by the caster suffers -1 Attack and -1 Defence.

SOP
Summoning-draw a card from your main deck and stockpile; put that card in play if it's an Entity card.
Preparation-this is where you play Ability cards.
Casting-this is where Aesir cards can use Magic.
Deployment-choose which Entities to be your Vanguard, Mainstay, and Rearguard respectively. Every Entity can only choose either one.
Rallying-untap all surviving Entities; all surviving Entities regain full HP.

Deployment details
Vanguard-any untapped Entity may choose this action; Entities choosing this option can only declare Offensive Action; Entities choosing Vanguard option gain +1 Attack.

Mainstay-any untapped Entity may choose this action; Entities choosing this option can choose either Offensive or Defensive Action. Defending Entities will always strike last unless specified otherwise.

Rearguard-Rearguard Entities can only declare Defensive Action; any untapped Entity may choose this action; Entities choosing Rearguard option will always strike first whenever attacked.

Declaring attack
1. Attacking entities will always strike first.
2. Every attacking Entity can choose a target to attack.
3. Attacked entities can only defend.
4. Tapped entities can also be targeted.
5. Tapped entities cannot fight back.
6. If defeated, attacking Entity must be tapped.

Declaring defend
1. Defending entities will always strike last.
2. Any untapped Entity can choose to defend against any attacking Entity.
3. Once defeated, defending Entity must be tapped.
